John Erle Mundle studied screenwriting at Vancouver Film School and is a two-time winner of the Praxis Screenwriters' Fellowship, as well as the Scriptapalooza TV Pilot Competition. His work has been performed at the Alibi Unplugged live reading series, where he served on the script evaluation committee.

John received the Short Film Venture Grant for Caregivers (2024), which he also produced and directed. The film premiered at Parrsboro, won Best Actress at Silver Wave, and earned a Canada Shorts Merit Award. He won the Jane LeBlanc Screenwriting Award in 2025, will serve as judge for the 2026 edition, and has had two short scripts selected at the HorrOrigins Film Festival.
